We have planned debate skill instruction for our Monday Activity Period Training Sessions over the next 6 weeks.  This should be a great opportunity for both new and experienced students to become stronger debaters, and everyone should attend.  We will hold speed debates and other fun activities as we focus on a different skill each week.

The topics covered will include: (i) Flowing a Debate; (ii) Researching and Writing the Case / Delivering the 1st Speech; (iii) How to Crossfire; (iv) Researching as a 2nd Speaker / Structuring and Delivering the Rebuttal Speech; (v) Structuring and Delivering the Summary Speech; and (vi) Structuring and Delivering the Final Focus Speech.

At the end of these 6 weeks of training, we can put all this skill-building into practice at the Spring Training Debate.  This will be a special training tournament to be held at Hanover High School on Saturday, April 2nd.  There will be debate rounds with instruction and discussion.  The topic of the training tournament will be "Resolved: Wikileaks is a threat to United States national security."
